MY GOLDWING FROM NEW-YORK TO PARIS

La Goldwing a été débarquée le 29 juillet. Les procédures de dédouanement n’ont pris que quelques jours. Une fois que, l’expert eu confirmé le caractère « véhicule de collection entièrement d’origine », je n’étais plus assujetti aux taxes d’importation ; seulement une TVA de 5,5% sur la valeur vénale de 4 500€ donnée par l’expert.

Rendez-vous pris lundi 8 août, Laura et moi, pour récupérer la moto chez Bolloré Classic Vehicle, quelque part dans la zone portuaire du Havre… Nous avons trouvé après moult ronds-points, au milieu de noria de semi-remorques et de container.

Accueil charmant et efficace d’Emilie, signature et récupération des différents formulaires, navigation dans ces gigantesques entrepôts pour trouver Laurent dans le hangar affecté aux véhicules.

Et là, ahhhhhh ma Goldwing en parfait état, prête à prendre la route. J’avais juste oublié qu’au départ le réservoir est vidangé. Pas d’essence. Un petit voyage à une station-service des environs, jerrican, la moto a démarré au quart de tour. Prêt pour la dernière partie du trajet New-York – Paris !

Trip sans problèmes, par la route longeant la Seine, Pont de Brotonne, Rouen, Vernon, Mantes, Paris. Arrêt à la Tour Eiffel et direction la maison. Je prépare la petite video habituelle de la route.

La Goldwing est au parking, toujours immatriculée aux Etats-Unis. J’ai quelques mois pour effectuer les formalités d’immatriculation en véhicule de collection ; l’assurance frontière est valable 90 jours, renouvelable 1 fois. C’est un de mes chantiers de la fin d’été.

Avant de partir pour de nouvelles aventures, je veux associer Laura, Max et Paul qui m’ont soutenu et accompagné pour ces voyages. Rick et Sally pour avoir protégé la moto envahissant leur garage à Phoenix pendant la pandémie. Grâce à elles et eux, je peux continuer à rouler sur cette fabuleuse machine qu’est la Goldwing 1500.

FOR MY ENGLISH FAMILY AND FRIENDS

And there, ahhhhhh my Goldwing in perfect condition, ready to hit the road. I had just forgotten that the tank is drained to load the motorcycle in the container. No gasoline. A quick trip to a nearby service station, jerry can, the bike started up like clockwork. Ready for the last part of the New York – Paris trip! Trip without problems, by the road along the Seine, Pont de Brotonne, Rouen, Vernon, Mantes, Paris. Stop at the Eiffel Tower for a souvenir picture and head home. The Goldwing is in the parking lot, still registered in the United States.
